OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS— HEY, NEIGHBOUR

None of us has a separate earth; you know, a very grand, self-sufficient, maybe quiet, specially customized space with no links to other humans. An amazing place suited to our individual preferences where we can curl up and live a programmed life of our choosing and admitting other humans inside only after credible interviews, analyses and examinations have been carried out. It doesn’t exist!

It would certainly prove easier to only have to deal with a select people; those you’ve proven  that they’re compatible with your habits. But my dear friend, life isn’t programmed like that. We were made to co-exist, like me or not!
Oh wow! (dear fiction writer, if nothing like this exists, you should consider making a crazy story out of it, lol).

Only option it appears is to learn to live better lives. Deal wisely with others. At this point, I’d like to repeat something John Maxwell wrote: There is no sure  way to make other people in your environment improve. The only thing you truly have the ability to improve is yourself.

Taking this series bit by bit, let’s look at how to relate better with your neighbours
Remember, you get no deal on secluded spaces. Hence, hello neighbour! Lol. These options may help you.

  1. Love yourself: Yes, I said that. You think it should be: love your neighbour? No darling, this peculiar love journey begins with you. Love yourself enough to want to give you, peace of mind, happiness, thriving environment, and comfort. And only then, will you sincerely want to achieve peace with your neighbour.
  2. Love your neighbour: Now, after you’ve learnt to love yourself, you can comfortably let the same love outflow to your neighbour. As you’d only want the best for yourself, try to give then the best too. Scriptures say: love your neighbour as you love yourself.  So, there you have it!
  3. Respect them: We have peculiar needs and preferences. If your neighbour has ever complained to you about any action of yours that brings them discomfort, you should look into that. Carefully analyse their complaints and when you’re sure they’re not bluffing, work to remedy the situation. Back in school, I had lodge-mates who played their music on full blast. Sometimes, it was more than three of such and I had to sway from music to music… talk about variety, huh?  It would have been a concert if it wasn’t disconcerting; you see those folks, I’m not sure they love me at all! Let’s not get to respect.
  4. Think well of your neighbours: Don’t allow other people’s grievances towards them colour your views. Treat them with all respect and kindness. When an issue arises, be very diplomatic in your approach.
  5. Buy them gifts: Yes darling, buy ‘em gifts! (If you’re my neighbour right here, let’s do this!????) No matter how small a gift is, it shows you were thinking about the recipient. Show kindness, express love!

Okay dear, this is it! I believe this will work, hehehe.
How have you been dealing with your neighbour? Tell me in the comment box.
Reach out, let’s talk????

Remember: you’re light, shine!
I love you.

See you next week.
If I miss you too much, I may decide to pop in within the week, lol, keep your fingers crossed????????
